Forgotten Fairy Tales" and the Liminal Spaces Where Nature and Magic Slip Through.
"Forgotten Fairy Tales" is a series that evokes images that could be stills from traditional stories that no one got to register. It relies on the belief that folklore and stories are real, and some of them were just lost through time, leaving only fragments behind, and it's up to the spectator to complete the story. I often get inspiration by going on walks and imagining the physical creatures in the environments I find. I like to take my time and appreciate all the liminal spaces where nature and magic try to slip into the rigid structures represented by society and the city. Searching for the communion we used to have when we lived more in tune with nature and were more open to magic and the unseen. It's an attempt to reclaim the childlike wonder that made us believe in spirits and monsters as children and to remain open to the mysteries of existence.
Bio:
I'm an illustrator from Argentina. I graduated from art college 12 years ago. My degree is actually in traditional printing, but due to health reasons, I wasn't able to do that anymore, so I started using digital art as a medium. However, I still do every sketch with pencil on paper because I never quite got used to drawing directly on a computer. Going through that helped me realize that the feelings and messages that you want to communicate don't necessarily have to be tied to a specific medium or skill. For me, what's most important is storytelling through art. The subjects of my choice are whimsical creatures that explore the world with childlike wonder, creating cute surreal images.
