Artist Spotlight: Marcelo Brandan
My name is Marcelo Brandan, an Argentine writer and visual artist, currently based in France. I am the creator of Poeta Magus, a project that explores the boundaries between graphic narrative, esoteric philosophy, and traditional art.
Our primary focus lies in the Mystery, the indescribable, the sacred—that which moves and elevates the human soul through the ancient wisdom sculpted in archaic temples, forgotten poems, arcane magic, and the inner spaces and states that become one and the same within human consciousness.
In the inner search for meaning and purpose in a world we consider devastated by superficiality, we express ourselves as servants of the Mystery—that eternal and unnamable essence that lies behind all things and within every living being.
Within us beats something arcane, primal, and archetypal that awaits, patiently, our own awakening to the wonder of existence. Poeta Magus seeks to transmit the awe for a world that seems more lost today than ever, but which is still found within… just a heartbeat away.
Regarding my background, my work is nourished by the profound teachings of Samael Aun Weor and the Gnostic and esoteric masters of all times. On a literary and visual level, my universe is shaped by the romantic and fantastical sensibility of authors like Novalis, Goethe, Lord Dunsany, and Michael Ende, alongside the evocative power of illustrators such as Kay Nielsen, Enrique Alcatena, Bob Pepper, and Dave McKean. Beyond these roots, my life is entirely dedicated to the study of these mysteries; there is little more to say about myself other than that my history is, inherently, the history of my own search.
