Cynthia Woods: The Writer Who Balances Compliance, Creativity, and a Serious Love of Bread

Some people unwind after work by watching TV or scrolling their phones. Cynthia Woods? She dives headfirst into fictional worlds, wrangles characters with big emotions, and occasionally throws in a supernatural twist just to keep everyone on their toes. It’s a pretty impressive second life for someone who spends her days navigating the very real, very structured world of compliance while balancing family life with a little fun.
Cynthia has been a reader for as long as she can remember; the kind of person who always has a book within reach and a movie waiting in the queue. Stories have always been her comfort zone, her playground, and her favorite escape hatch. She wrote her first play in fourth grade and never really stopped. (Honestly, the world should be grateful she didn’t.)

By Day: Compliance Officer. By Night: Story‑Powered Creative Machine

With a background in technology and healthcare, Cynthia’s day job requires precision, logic, and a whole lot of rule‑following. But once the workday ends, she slips into the world where her creativity feels most at home. That’s when the characters show up: messy, emotional, stubborn, hopeful, magical, and lovable, and demand her attention. ‍

She writes every single day, often so intensely that she looks up and realizes she should’ve been asleep hours ago. When the story is flowing, who needs sleep? ‍

Her books blend emotional depth and action with supernatural elements and a thread of romance she simply can’t resist weaving in. She’s a self‑proclaimed hopeless romantic, and honestly, it shows in the best way! ‍

A Rural Life Full of Wildlife, Warmth, and Whisked Dough

Cynthia lives in a cozy rural home with her amazing husband and their four‑pawed kids, who are spoiled with zero shame. Outside, deer wander like they own the place, squirrels run covert operations, chipmunks drag race across the patio, and birds provide the soundtrack. It’s the perfect setting for a writer whose imagination runs wild, sometimes literally. When she’s not writing, you’ll probably find her:

  • Baking something sweet

  • Kneading bread like it’s a sacred ritual - She loves bread a little too much, but she’s not apologizing for it!

  • Gaming

  • Or plotting her next story twist while pretending she’s “taking a break”

The Dream That Keeps Her Going

Yes, Cynthia still clocks in for the 9‑to‑5, but creating worlds and letting her imagination run wild brings her endless joy. With every book she releases and every reader who falls in love with her characters, she shares that happiness with the rest of the world.

So What Does Cynthia Write?

That’s the fun part! Because she doesn't have a favorite genre, she doesn't pigeonhole her writing to a single one. She has written about everyday characters, werewolves, vampires, magical sprites, and more! Something for everyone. That's the goal! You might prefer the non-traditional twist on the classic werewolf or vampire myths that she bent in a different direction, or you may enjoy the old west themed love story of two unassuming heroes who struggle to save their friends. What's that? You'd rather read about a magical wind sprite and her impact on a medieval prince? Look no further! Cynthia's stories span a broad range of diverse characters, a variety of vivid settings, and a boatload of trouble and happiness as good faces off against evil in the never-ending battle. Her stories come from a place of passion, curiosity, and a lifelong love of storytelling. Once you step into one of her worlds, you may not want to leave.

Brief BIO:

I'm an avid reader and prolific writer at the end of a normal 9-to-5 day. Happily married with 4-pawed, furry kids and enjoying life in the country. I've often donated time to the community, primarily our deserving veterans through the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. My dad was a World War II vet and my brother fought in Vietnam; I feel gratitude for those who have bravely defended my freedom and enjoy repaying that service. I'm a huge nerd who enjoys baking and gaming (of all types), and my heart holds a special love for animals. I'm a hopeless romantic, and my love for animals almost matches my love for my husband - almost. I hope readers enjoy my books as much as I like writing them. Happy Reading!
